[ LOST STARS ]
You're the one girl,
And you know that it's true:
Everything comes back to you.
The skyline splits in two,
Dreary eyes search for you,
Absorbing a million shades of black,
Looking for a needle in the haystack.
A thousand lonely nights,
A thousand crushed cravings,
The stars vigilant and bearing witness
To whispered dreams and hopes of forgiveness.
You're the endless sea,
That I'm reading out for someone I can't see;
You're my unfinished poetry,
Like broken glass in a mirror of dreams.
Lyrics don't make any sense,
I'm swimming in smoke so dense:
Reminiscent waves uncoloring senses,
Slivers of darkness whispering menace;
Rejection dimming the flames of my soul,
Engulfed by questions that
I don't have answers to in whole:
Are we all lost stars illuminating
Lightyears of darkness
In the twisted fabrics of existence?
Are we all lost stars flickering
With unrequited impressions of colours,
Destined to fade away without
Our spirits ever confluencing,
Without our horizons ever conglomerating?
It's just another night,
Saw a shooting star and thought of you,
Thought of the time
When I looked at you and knew
That you were the answer in the cacophony,
You were the symphony
I was searching for, all my life.
We are lost stars illuminating
Souls who need to be guided home;
We are lost stars sparkling
With hope and witchlight,
Our lingering traces remaining
Long after we flutter by
Into nothingness.
We will be lost stars,
When this world becomes a forgotten whisper,
But you'll still be the one.
You're the one girl,
And you know that it's true:
You're the song my heart is beating to,
You're the light my soul is blinking to,
You're the sky my hands are reaching out to,
The essence waiting to be
Touched and grasped in
Union.
